Course Title   Training Course on Plumbing Technology (46th Batch)

on everyday 12 hours, 04 classes,
Time: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Course Contents   Introduction of plumbing and plumbing appurtenances, water supply system in buildings, hot water supply system, waste disposal system in buildings, ventilation system and storm water management in building.
Course Benefits   Human beings used to live in house primarily for his safety and secondarily for his comfort. A well designed and strongly built housing structure only cannot fulfill these demands. To get full satisfaction it needs well incorporation of other building services. Among the services, plumbing is of utmost necessity for both personal safety and comfort.

Plumbing service provides the systems for water supply, waste disposal and storm water management in a building. For hygiene, we need sufficient safe water and a good sanitary waste disposal system and for comfort we need well designed, installed and maintained plumbing system in a building. Updated knowledge in plumbing will help us incorporating a modern and developed plumbing system in buildings.

Plumbing is a subject in combination of art and science. Art of plumbing is the planning of plumbing system and its presentation through making drawings, where as sizing the components, installation, maintenance etc. of a plumbing system is the subject of science. Experience enriches the skill of art and quest for knowledge keeps updating science of ever changing technologies. Training on plumbing will help both in enriching skill of art and updating knowledge of science of plumbing.

There is no institution in Bangladesh where formal course on plumbing is offered for producing professionals in this field. As a result, country is suffering from shortage of such professional in relation to fast growing building infrastructures. Majority of the buildings are being built giving less importance to this aspect of specialization. So occupants are becoming victims of untold miseries resulting from bad practices in plumbing sector in the country.

Engineering Staff College, Bangladesh being the only institution for continuous development of engineers and other professionals is taking the initiative for developing professionals in the field of plumbing.
