Short Biography of Resource Person

 

Nazimuddin Mahmud

Mr. Nazimuddin Mahmud is a prominent supply chain professions in Bangladesh. He has vast experience in supply chain and logistics management and operations management which he gained from working with internationally acclaimed organizations in Bangladesh like Lafarge Cement, British American Tobacco, and Japan International Tobacco.

Mr. Mahmud is currently working as Make-Pack Manager looking after secondary Manufacturing process of the Company in United Dhaka Tobacco Company Limited (A member of Japan Tobacco International).

Mr. Nazimuddin Mahmud started his illustrious career as a lecturer of EEE in IUT in 2004. In late 2004, he joined Lafarge Cement Company and worked as Instrumentation and Control Engineer and later looked after the Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance up to 2008.

In 2008, Mr. Mahmud joined BAT (British American Tobacco) as Electrical Service Manager to look after operations & maintenance of Factory Electrical establishment and then as Production Manager to look after manufacturing operation of BAT Dhaka factory. Later promoted as Head of Engineering and Services and managed BAT Dhaka factory engineering activities, Construction Projects, Capex Management, Factory expansion, Etc. 

Mr. Nazimuddin Mahmud completed his graduation in electrical engineering from Islamic Institute of Technology, Gazipur, Bangladesh.

 

Salek Mahmud, MCIPS, National Trainer of GoB

Mr. Salek Mahmud is a chartered procurement and supply chain professional, currently works as superintending engineer in Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited as a "Procurement expert" of goods, works and service procurement of several Development partner funded projects. He has worked in various capacities in different departments e.g., Procurement, Design & Operation and also worked in the capacity of Manager (technical), Deputy Manager (technical), and Assistant Engineer.

He is a National Trainer developed by Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU), IMED, Ministry of Planning. He was on Deputation to Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU), IMED, Ministry of Planning to participate in the Advance Procurement Training (Foundation Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply) by Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), UK and Top-up Masters in Procurement under the Public Procurement Reform.

He completed Masters in Procurement & Supply Management BIGD from BRAC University, MBA in finance from IBA, Dhaka University and mechanical engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh.

 

 

Syed Abdulla Tanzim Al Bayezid

Mr. Bayezid has 13+ years of professional experience as a Supply Chain practitioner with Foreign Aid funded projects and Foreign Diplomatic Mission. Mr. Bayezid has been involved in facilitating training, workshop, and lesson learning sessions for last 5 years and has already got 300+ hours of experience as a facilitator.

At least 1500+ participants have taken part in different sessions conducted by Mr. Bayezid and his areas of expertise as a facilitator are Sourcing, Procurement, Logistics and Business Negotiation. He has been working as a course facilitator with International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA), Bangladesh and Bdjobs training for last couple of years and his sessions are very well known for delivering clear concepts, practical examples and best practices extracted from different industries.

He completed his graduation and postgraduation in English from Jahangirnagar University and Masters in Procurement and Supply Management (MPSM) from BRAC University and awarded Vice-chancellor Gold Medal for his highest CGPA in the program. Mr. Bayezid also did the certification of Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM™) and Certified Professional in Logistics Management (CPLM™) from International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA), USA. He completed a Postgraduate Diploma in International Trade Management (PGDITM) from DCCI Business Institute (DBI) in 2022.

Mr. Bayezid is currently working as Procurement & Contracting Manager with one of the leading Foreign Diplomatic Missions in Bangladesh.   

 

 

Md. Moktar Hossain, MCIPS, PMP, PDPP

Mr. Moktar Hossain is a chartered procurement and supply chain professional, currently works as executive engineer in Bangladesh Power Development Board. He is an expert in public procurement and supply chain management. He is also a faculty for supply chain of BRAC University and also am eminent project management professionals and trainer.

Mr. Moktar Hossain is a CIPS (UK) Certified Supply Chain Management Professional and PMI (USA) certified Project Management Professional. He completed Masters in Procurement & Supply Management BIGD from BRAC University and electrical and electronics engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Bangladesh.

 

Md. Joshim Ahmed

Mr. Joshim Ahmed is an industry recognized expert with more than years’ experience specializing in Supply Chain Management, Export Import Operations Management, Customs and Tax Management, Procurement, Logistics and Shipping.

Mr. Joshim Ahmed currently works as Manager, Supply Chain of Japan International Tobacco and is responsible for aggregate demand supply planning, capacity planning and inventory planning. He manages export import operation worth of approximate 100 million USD per year. He has immense expertise on LC Management, HS Code, SRO Impact & Tax Impact, license and permission from regulatory authority, and local and international trade laws.

Under Mr. Ahmed’s lead & supervision, in 2021 JTI exported 1,455 containers containing 36,558.77 metric tons of unmanufactured tobacco which is a remarkable growth of 150% comparing with previous year despite of the global shortage of shipping containers caused by the Covid- 19 pandemic & Suez Cannel issue.

 

He completed MBA from Northern University and currently studying Micro Master in Supply Chain at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.

 

Rashed Morshed, FCIPS, PMP, P.Eng, National Trainer of GoB

Mr. Rashed Morshed is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (UK) currently works as superintending engineer, procurement in Bangladesh China Power Company Limited.

Mr. Rashed Morshed has more than seventeen years public and private sector experience in the field of procurement and supply chain management. He has experience and expertise in executing procurement activities funded by Multilateral Development Banks (i.e., the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, IFAD).

He is a National Trainer of Central Procurement Technical Unit, IMED, Ministry of Planning, GoB, expert in e-GP, a Certified Trainer of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), Visiting faculty of BRAC University, BIGD BRAC, ESCB, BPMI, NATP etc. Not only, Mr. Morshed is a distinguished teacher but also trained himself with various training programs arranged by ICT-ILO (Italy), FIDIC (Geneva), ILO, Turin (Italy), World Bank (Dhaka Office), CPTU, etc.

Mr. Morshed has published a book titled “Improving Performance of Store Management” ISBN (978-3-330-08932-7) by LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing, UK.

In his illustrious career, Mr. Rashed Morshed has worked in various organizations like World Bank, CEDP, Ministry of Education, DESCO, etc.

He completed Masters in Procurement & Supply Management BIGD from BRAC University, MBA in management from, Dhaka University and mechanical engineering from Islamic Institute of Technology, Gazipur, Bangladesh. He also completed P. Eng. from IEB, Dhaka and PMP from PMI, USA.
